Hit me....wait, can I change that? Shit.

Happy New Year's Eve!

Michael and I will most likely be spending the evening in. It will be nice, I think. We did the big, fancy party thing last year, and it was amazing. Actually it would be really hard to top that one...we were on Navy Pier in Chicago over the gorgeous Lake Michigan, with the B-52's playing "Love Shack" and fireworks at Midnight. *sigh* It was awesome.

Well, not only are we not exactly financially fit to spend that kind of evening tonight, but honestly it is really appealing to just cook a home-cooked meal, drink cheap champagne in our p.j.'s, and play games while watching Regis Philbin try to do Dick Clark's job. Ashlee freakin' Simpson will be co-hosting, as well. Gag me, please. She's absolutely horrible.

We went to Shreveport this weekend, and we kinda left in much lower spirits than we have in the past several months. You know, it was bound to happen though. You can't always win...that cliche exists for a reason. It was a good wake-up call, though, because it made us realize we've been spending a LOT of time there, and while we've been winning money, it hasnt' been in any guaranteed way. We've been playing smartly, yes, but we've also been lucky. It's the nature of the beast, unfortunately. So, the trip kinda sucked, but the one good thing about it was the guy who owned a gym playing at the same table with us. He had these big beefy arms and was completely bald. He was also a self-proclaimed "professional blackjack player." He kept giving us these "pointers" which were laughable at best. It was so great, because Michael is very good at blackjack. He was giving us all this advice that basically only your simple "basic strategy" tips. It was great because every time he'd give a heavy sigh or shake his head or, worse, verbally berate us....WE would win and he would lose. LOL What a bastard. We walked away with more money from that table than he did. :)

Anyway, that's all for now....I'll be back later.
